i heart detroit

Well I had to pull from the archives for his one because things in life have gotten a little busy. High school prom, exams and graduation for my daughter, selling our family home and dwindling our belongings down by 75% (which felt surprisingly liberating), securing a new condo in Toronto, moving and getting settled into our new surroundings and a new workplace. While it was a lot to handle, some days better than others, I have no regrets and I am more than excited about what the future holds. I'm glad to be back <3

the 'mom' jean

Frowned upon for their dowdy and unflattering cut, I give you the 'mom' jean.  High-waisted, roomy through the hips and tapered at the ankle is pretty much the recipe for a fashion disaster, but add a cropped and tattered hemline, a flouncy half top and a pair of wedges and you may just make a fashion statement.

Saturday I spend part of the day doing some local vintage and thrift shopping and I found a few real gems.  It appears that I have also taking a strong liking to different shades of blue. This is new. Tomorrow I am off to Detroit for the day. In other words, more to come (fingers crossed)!

WHO: Lost and Found Vintage, Royal Oak, MI

WHAT: This is one of those stores that I never leave empty handed, so much so that if I am in need of a vintage 'fix' I cross the border at Detroit and take a quick trip up Woodward Ave to visit this little gem.  I've amassed a nice little collection of dresses and accessories over the years from Lost and Found last seen here, and here, and here. The girls in the shop are a pleasure to visit with and I can always depend on them to provide some inspiration.
