store spotlight - lost and found vintage

WHO: Lost and Found Vintage, Royal Oak, MI

WHAT: This is one of those stores that I never leave empty handed, so much so that if I am in need of a vintage 'fix' I cross the border at Detroit and take a quick trip up Woodward Ave to visit this little gem.  I've amassed a nice little collection of dresses and accessories over the years from Lost and Found last seen here, and here, and here. The girls in the shop are a pleasure to visit with and I can always depend on them to provide some inspiration.

WHERE: 510 S Washington Ave, Royal Oak, MI.

Most recently Elle magazine named Lost and Found Vintage one of the best vintage stores in America, but I already knew that! Check out the link below to see if one of your favourites made the cut!

the walkervilles

Its been a while since I put up a music post, so given that it is  Canadian Music Week, meet The Walkervilles. With a classic Motown and rock' n roll sound of the 60s, these boys also know how to rock a suit and tie! Catch them Saturday at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto and March 30 at FM Lounge in Windsor.

store spotlight - jones and co.

I have visited hundreds of vintage stores over the years and one of my absolute favourites is a local shop, Jones & Co. Louise Jones who has owned and operated the store for 8 years has a sharp eye for quality and exceptional style. The store stocks a vast array of women's and men's clothing and accessories as well as housewares, and is very well organized.
Jones & Co. is located in the heart of Walkerville, a neighbourhood in Windsor, Ontario thriving with restaurants and unique shops. A one-time walk through Jones & Co. is never enough, even for someone like myself who visits regularly.  The merchandise is constantly being rearranged to highlight pieces that previously may have been overlooked thanks in part to the excellent visual merchandising by Adele Duck.
Over the years I have found many of my favourite vintage pieces at Jones & Co. If you have a chance to pay them a visit, you will understand my love affair.

Some recent finds - Black Eel skin clutch (vintage, Jones & Co. Windsor, ON $39. last seen here). Snakeskin box clutch (vintage, Jones & Co. Windsor, ON $39). Beaded clutch (vintage, Jones & Co. Windsor, ON $24). Clear clutch (vintage, Jones & Co. Windsor, ON $15). Beaded handbag (vintage, Jones & Co. Windsor, ON $24).
