Frowned upon for their dowdy and unflattering cut, I give you the 'mom' jean.  High-waisted, roomy through the hips and tapered at the ankle is pretty much the recipe for a fashion disaster, but add a cropped and tattered hemline, a flouncy half top and a pair of wedges and you may just make a fashion statement.

subtle changes take 2

You may recognize the 'foundation' of this outfit from my post the other day.  A lace slip dress, a pair of skinnies and a great pair of shoes, easily transformed by simply changing up the accessories.  By adding a pair of socks, throwing on a pair of sunglasses and changing up the jacket, I created a whole new look.  I've often thought that it would be fun to do this for a whole week.  See what looks I could come up with and how different I could style each look...I think that I just got inspired.

Meet Fred.  He just couldn't resist being part of the shoot. After all, we do coordinate quite  nicely!

In Toronto for a minute to take in the fall Vintage Crawl, where a number of vintage stores stay open until midnight for some serious shopping pleasure.  I did however, have two regrets at the end of the night.  One being that I haven't worn these boots in a decade and forgot how much I love them, and two, I forgot how ridiculously heavy they are.  By the end of night it was as if I had just completed a cross country trek wearing weighted ankle bands!
